3rd of June, X (formerly known as twitter) updated their terms of use and allowed content involving nudity. During June, X monthly visitors almost doubled.
In October 2022, Elon Musk acquired Twitter, which later were renamed to X. Ever since, there have been multiple updates for the social network. When Elon were placed as Twitter's new CEO, you could see users tagging him in posts regarding their thoughts about Twitter. In some of these, you could see Elon answering the poster, as well as taking actions regarding their thoughts.
Between May and June, X monthly viewers increased by almost 2 billion viewers (according to semrush). At the same time, Pornhub have lost almost 300 million monthly viewers, xnxx have lost 400 million, xhamster have lost around 100 million and xvideos lost around 400 million viewers. Even Onlyfans lost over 5 million monthly viewers.
Based on previous researches, Twitter never disallowed nudity in their previous terms of use. However, in July 2023, Twitter announced that they would start a new monetizing program for verified users. Now in June 2024, X updated their policy to allow nudity and adult content. Even though we've seen a lot of nudity popping up in our feeds, their monthly viewers skyrocketed the same month as this new policy started taking place.
